Giants Stadium Was Home to Many Past Teams

The Giants may be struggling lately, but San Franciscans know that true fandom is worth the torture. In tribute to the time-honored summer tradition, we're revisiting the history of San Francisco baseball stadiums—this time with loads of photos.

Location: where Garfield Park sits today at 25th & Harrison streets

Central Park
Location: 8th & Market streets
Teams: California State League
In operation: 1884 - 1906



Recreation Park ('Big Rec')
Location: 14th and Valencia streets
Teams: San Francisco Seals; Mission Reds
In operation: 1907 - 1930






Ewing Field
Location: Geary and Masonic streets
Teams: San Francisco Seals
In operation: 1914 - 1938



Seals Stadium
Location: 16th and Bryant streets
